Jan Bronicki
Hi, I’m Jan. I’m a software engineer and open-source contributor pushing cloud native adoption forward. I’m a maintainer of Flatcar Container Linux, a CNCF project building a minimal, secure, immutable operating system for running containers and Kubernetes at scale. Microsoft employs me full time to work on open source, mainly Flatcar, alongside Azure internals like provisioning.
I’m active in the open-source and cloud native community as a maintainer, speaker, and contributor, and I’ve contributed to a number of other open-source projects along the way. I write in Python, Rust, and Go.
I speak at conferences on immutable infrastructure, Linux, and cloud native tooling. I also publish articles here and elsewhere on open source, community, and engineering practice.
My background started in robotics. I hold a BEng in Control Engineering and Robotics, where my thesis built a reinforcement learning agent that learned to play arcade games. I later completed an MEng in Management and Manufacturing Engineering, both from Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, where my thesis analyzed the impact of cloud technologies on Industry 4.0.
Feel free to reach out to me at jbronicki.work@gmail.com for anything: questions, work opportunities, consulting, help getting started in open source, or if you’d like to contribute to a project I maintain.
